Raleigh, NC

This is not our first time going to Raleigh, of course, but when Uncle Drewski and Aunt Sarah (Megan's brother and sister-in-law) had a baby shower in Raleigh last weekend we decided to make a family retreat out of it. We arrived on Friday night and checked into our hotel, the Embassy Suites.

After that we checked in we went right to Frankie's. It resembles a huge Chuck E. Cheese except about 10 times bigger and better. It includes a funhouse and laser tag inside as we'll as 3 miniature golf courses, 3 go-cart tracks, bumper boats, batting cages, and a few other rides outside. It was clean, classy, and we liked it.

Frankie's has a concession stand and a full service restaurant but we opted for a change of venue and met Uncle Jerry at Red Robbin - hummm. As soon as we got back to the hotel it was into the pool.

The next day we had a great (and free!) breakfast at the hotel and then Megan and Emily Grace were off to the shower. I took the girls to Monkey Joe's. We tried to do things we had never done in Raleigh and this bounce house bonanza did the trick.

Lunch at Crabtree Mall and then to a park near the RDU runway called Observation Park. A small park which includes a view of planes landing and taking off. You can also hear the communication between the tower and the planes waiting for clearance. We all enjoyed the this park - mostly for the planes.

While we all enjoyed Observation Park, the girls were up for some serious running. It was a beautiful as any day in March will ever be and we took full advantage of it at Laural Hills Park. A great place for fun of all kinds.

We ended up finding a geocache just in the woods over the Center Field Fence.

Dinner at Boston Market and then home again. Any city can mean a day of fun and memories for our family. The days are hard with little ones but these days will not soon be forgotten by little girls and certainly not by their parents. We love our family!
