Happy Birthday Emily Grace - North Carolina Zoo

Emily Grace wanted to see the animals at the zoo.  She had been of course but had no memory of the trip.  She saw a great many animals and we experienced our family once again.

This girl has brought more fun and joy into our home, our family, and our lives than we ever thought possible.  She is a quick and fun quip every minute.  She is unfiltered love and joy to me and to her mom.  We love this girl with all of our hearts and are so glad to have spent the last four years with her being a part of our family.  Megan . . . we sure are blessed.

It was feeding time for the Pink Flamingos - It got everyone's attention.

No even a day at the zoo would be complete without a playground.

A great day at the zoo.  Thank God for his creation - for Emily Grace (and her birthday) - and for our family. This is Joy!

Happy Birthday Addison - Myrtle Beach

We have said it before on this blog, but some time ago we decided that, in as much as we could, we would do family trips in the place of birthday parties.  We ran the numbers and we still come out ahead on costs and have a family experience for our family to boot.

This year Addison chose to go the Great Wolf Lodge.  The problem is that by the time we were able to book it, Great Wolf was out of our price range.  Addison chose to go to a Myrtle Beach hotel with a water slide indoors as long as the trip would include Build-A-Bear workshop.  She had a deal and we were off to a great weekend.

Addison has just turned eight.  It is hard to imagine a little girl with more love and concern for others. She loves people and she loves animals. It is always her heart that cares the most for those that are in her life.  I love her heart, and I love her.

Don't forget about me!

We had a great view of Myrtle Beach - great place to view the fast approaching tropical storm.

These girls could not wait to get on the beach!

With the storm approaching the girls were not allowed in water much, but they managed a little until the rains came hard.

We went on the indoor water slide for a little while and then, as promised, Build-A-Bear was in our family plans.

We have a million of these it seems - but somehow it always warms their hearts (and ours as well)

If you know much about church - you will recognize that we were at a New Spring Campus at Myrtle Beach for church.  It was very uplifting - we just love these guys.  The Myrtle Beach campus was just six weeks old upon our visit.

One of Addison and Olivia's great wants from this trip was to ride this roller coaster.  I can remember when they would not even look at such a thing but they are on it.
