Mudcats Baseball

My Father's Day gift was a trip (My favorite kind of gift).  Our family (along with Nana and Pop Pop) went to see the Zebulon Mudcats play a baseball game. As always, the trip had its challenges but we all had a great time.

My wife is the best.  She always comes up with the most thoughtful ways to remind me that she loves me - and just so you know, I love her too!  She didn't feel well on this night, but you have never known it. Thank you, honey, for a great trip, and great time, and great family memories.  I really do love you!

We had box seats!  Front row with leg room to spare, a rarity for tall people in a stadium.

This was our crew - what a fun crowd!

We had a scare with the rain but nothing could dampen our spirits.  It quit raining after and inning or so anyway.

Nana and Pop Pop enjoying the game

So did we all (Selfies abound)

As always with ball games - The big deal is the snacks!

Emily Grace has been known to say ... "Pop Pop is silly"

Then came the fireworks!  Listen to Emily Grace below.  I just love that little voice.

Beach Afternoon

Today we met the Clubbs at the beach for a late afternoon dinner at the beach.  It was no big deal except that we so needed the good times with friends away from the rental house (which has consumed our days and nights) and from work.  It marks the real beginning of our summer.

Financially, we certainly do not have much right now, but we most certainly are rich beyond measure as you can see in the photos that follow.

This girl continues to impress me.  This year she was able to grow academically far beyond what anyone (other than her, her tutor Mrs. White, and her teacher, Mrs. Gatchel) thought she could achieve.  Not only did she catch up, but she did better than almost everyone. I love her no matter what, but when I see her achieve and grow - I can't help but be a little proud.  Just had to say.

We did what you do at the beach ...

We played in the sand

We frolicked

We ate on the beach (which we had never done as family)  It was kinda nice.

And we ate more

And then back to the beach for more of everything . . .

At the risk of putting something in the blog that will embarrass my girls in years to come, This girl ...

Really likes this boy . . .

And they boogie boarded for hours and then still wanted more . . .

More running . . .

One big dance in the surf . . .

Then home.  I love my family and friends!
