Storm on the African Plain

Not much to report about the third full day of vacation. Rest. Everyone slept in and gradually made their way to the pool or to a place of solitude to read or draw. The big birds came back and spent most of the morning hanging out by the pool keeping an eye on the "new girls." No photos just rest and rain - off and on rain but mostly rain.

Around 4:00 we ate an early dinner and decided to head to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Covid-19 protocol does not allow anyone at a resort without a dinning or room reservation so we had to catch the bus from Disney Springs to Animal Kingdom Lodge and then back.

Just as we arrived at Disney Springs it hit! Wind, Rain (hard rain), Thunder, Lightning - you name it. We ran to the bus stop and arrived with water logged shoes and clothes and all of the evidence that the $1.29 ponchos from Wal-mart were not going to be sufficient for this trip. BUT it is an experience. We laughed, we ran, we complained, and shared time together and we shall never forget "the big one" that we ran through on our way to Animal Kingdom.

The main reason that we made this trek. The stars of the show - Animals

And desert - Of course

I can't believe at didn't get more pictures in the interior of this great building - but this is Addison with one display of African art.

Megan took the opportunity to talk to some locals and to warm up by this fire. Yes, it was cold and we were wet. She engaged with a family from Tampa. They were season pass holders - I read a few days ago just how important they might be to Disney. Apparently, on any given day over half of the people that you see around you at Disney are season pass holders. Who knew?
