Return

So we left our Vegas hotel room at 4:00 AM. We had an early flight but got bumped to a later flight (still in time to catch our connection). This lady worked the system and it was well worth our time to take the latter flight.

So we waited for a while in Vegas. You can tell by the slot machines in the airport.

Once we got to Charlotte weather began to reak havoc on the Easter United States flight system. After delays we ended up flying into New Bern in stead of Raleigh because we could.

Moving to Fly

Tomorrow we have to fly out of Vegas early so today we traveled back to Vegas so we can go early the next day.

We walked out this door at our Air B&B.

The girls had to say goodbye to this donkey who was the recipient of their attention all week.

Made our way through this huge mountain pass one more time.

We arrived in Vegas well before check-in so, knowing that the girls really wanted to see the Titanic Exhibit Emily, Olivia, and I used this time to get it done.

The Iceberg

Many of these items are actual relics from the shipwreck but amazingly this “big piece” is a actual piece of the titanic that raised from the wreck.

Emily is looking at a shirt and shoe that was recovered from the wreck that survived despite there being no human remains.

Made it to the end of the exhibit.

The girls wanted to turn in early so the adults took in a few more sites. This is at Caesar’s Palace.

We ate at the food court at Caesar’s

The Reese’s cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory for dessert.

Zion (Scenic Route)

Megan and I woke up and went to breakfast at River Rock Roasting Company. Great food, great view, and the best of company.

Megan and I went looking for a trail to a waterfall (the girls were not interested). We never did find the exact trail we were looking for but we did find a great scenic drive.

We found a lake on the top of the world.

We found a trail that sounded promising and it did lead to a waterfall and was only a mile. We set out and about a tenth of a mile in the trail went vertical and we felt that we couldn’t attempt it without better shoes and some equipment.

I visited a local barbecue restaurant and brought home dinner.

We went back into Zion but were denied entry because we missed the last bus but we did get to witness some of the effects of sunset on the canyon.
