Simple Time

So today went kinda like I thought it would; a little laid back and a little disjointed, for a vacation day, but this is just the way of it. We each had our assignments:

Megan: Attend the Narional PE Institute and help each day with a presentation and learn all there is to learn from peers and experts around the world.

Joe: Hold it together until Megan gets out of the conference.

We woke up and took mom to the conference. The next order of business was to get gas. Everyone had to participate.

Next we went back to the hotel in time for a big hike to breakfast (very exciting).

All the way across the parking lot to this familiar place:

Complete with selfies on the McDonalds play park.

Then back to the hotel pool.  It is a great half indoor - half outdoor pool in a great lobby.

And they had fun:

The big hit, though, happened when I turned on the jets on the hot tub.  For some reason it made bubbles - lots of bubbles. It was the hit of the day.

Now, I will be the first to admit that I do not know what chemicals would make suds like that but if it is something bad just keep it to yourself because, you know, what's done is done.

We dried up and went to lunch.  We happened upon a sonic where you could order from the table.

That is what vacation is all about - broadening our horizons.

Soon after we picked up Megan (once we found her- there is a story in that) and we ate dinner in a downtown restaurant called the Farm Burger.

After some informal sightseeing we found a park.  We found that it was on the sight of the old Asheville Speedway.

We went geocaching, walking, and played until we were tired.

This is the old racetrack in the background of this playground.

We returned to the Hotel and off to bed.  No big whoop but a great day all the same.  I love vacation and I love my family!
