This was a travel day. Not much different from the first day of any vacation. Photos like the ones that follow dominate every travel day on this blog, but this year our vacation is different. This time each of the girls is a year older. It has been a whole year since our last vacation and this year our girls remain healthy and their parents are healthy too. We are all together and our love for another has been stretched and expanded by the many challenges that we have face in this most difficult year.
So you see, this is a time that must not be missed. It will be here only once; and since every last one of us love to travel and experience new things together, we will suck the marrow out of life and fully embrace our family experience; and we will do it at one of our favorite places - in fact, they say it is one of the happiest places on earth.
We left this morning as planned. We did not communicate with each other, however, what time we were planning to leave. Megan had 7:00 AM in her mind I had 10:00 AM in mine. So, as usual we compromised. We left at 7:30 AM.
The ride went great and these girls were amazingly patient.
After a while the excitement ran it course.
We didn't make it all the way but we made it far. We will rest here for the night at the Town Place Suites in Jacksonville, Florida.
Looking for something unique to do for dinner, we wound up here, at Dave and Buster's. Perfect for kids who had ridden patiently in a car all day, and ideal for a 10 year old kid who loves Chucky E. Cheese but feels that she is too big for it.
