Camels, Pigs, and Pterodactyls

We have come to Myrtle Beach a lot over the years. There are several regular staples to our visits and the Waccatee Zoo is one of them. It seems that we always have a kid just the right age for it - we were thinking that this would be perfect for Emily Grace.

Addison, as always, was the animal whisperer.

Emily did love the zoo and felt like one of the girls.

She kept up pretty well but did have to take a rest.

I have three girls, we will not turn the final page of any chapter without drama. Megan and Emily Grace had already gone to the car to cool it off when Olivia got bitten by this pig. The zoo staff cleaned the wound out and put a band-aid on it. It was not a very deep bite but It had quite an effect on her - she was very somber and reflective for several hours and contended that she just doesn't like animals.

When I was in middle school I worked at a, long ago closed, miniature golf course. For a kid, I got quite good at it. I've always enjoyed it and want to play any time we have the opportunity. You might can imagine my excitement when both of my older girls named putt-putt among their preferred activities for the week. Today, when Emily Grace went down for a nap we took the opportunity to take in a serious round of golf.

They chose Dinosaur Golf which was great because it was close enough to ride the golf cart (an added bonus for them).

I know it doesn't look like it, but they did have a good time. Don't forget it is 110 degrees in the shade.

I told you they were having fun. This is the sure fire way to end any event on a great note and every miniature golf course here knows it and stands ready with a gracious supply of ice cream.

Next we went back to the beach for a little while and then the pool again.

Another great day. We love our family!
