Tidal Pools and Long Shadows

We love going to the beach but we have young, fair skinned children so we never stay long at the time. Sometimes we go in the morning but there is something about going in the evening when the sun sinks low and the evening breeze breaks the back of the mid-day heat.

The tide tends to be low which represents another 50-60 yards of beach here at Crescent Beach. The girls love digging, building, and frolicking in the tidal pools that are not even visible at high tide.

This feels like our time. Somehow you can feel the weight of the world drop off as the evening breeze continues to cool the blowing sands. As the shadows lengthen opposing the lowering sun we draw in a long cleansing breath and think to ourselves how blessed we are to experience this stab of joy from God himself.
